Restaurant POS software in Nepal: a buying checklist
Choose restaurant POS software in Nepal by testing NPR bills, QR orders, KOT workflow, staff permissions and the full setup cost.

When comparing restaurant POS software in Nepal, ask for a demo using a meal your team actually serves. A good test might include momo from the kitchen, drinks from the bar, an additional table order and a final NPR bill. The question is whether the system keeps those steps together without making a cashier enter the same information twice.
Bring a service scenario to the demo
Have staff open a table, take an order in the POS and add another from a guest’s QR menu. Check that the kitchen can identify the table and both orders. Then mark one item sold out and see what another guest can still order. In GiveMyMenu, the POS and guest menu use the same dish list; food and drink stations can have their own preparation view.
Check NPR bills and the meaning of payment buttons
Confirm the location uses NPR before entering your menu. Review each configured tax or service setting against the bill you intend to give guests. A software service bill and a payment record do not by themselves establish tax-system approval or an accounting integration. Ask for evidence of any certification or integration your business requires rather than inferring it from a polished receipt.
Also distinguish collecting a payment from recording one. GiveMyMenu records received cash and external card-terminal payments. A cashier choosing a method does not charge the guest or verify a wallet transfer. Nepal software-plan payments through eSewa or Khalti are a separate transaction between the restaurant owner and the software platform.
Ask what the NPR subscription includes
- Is the amount monthly or yearly, and is it for one location or each location?
- Are table PINs, KOT print views and restaurant branding included?
- Which staff roles and inventory tools require a different plan?
- Does the setup include a printer, tablet, network work or training?
- Which features are available only during a trial?
Use the current Nepal pricing page rather than an old screenshot or a USD price converted on a calculator. GiveMyMenu publishes explicit NPR catalog prices; a billing period with no published local amount requires an enquiry. Software cost is only one part of the budget, so include devices, printer consumables and the time needed to prepare the menu.
Test the connection and printer where staff will use them
Try the actual counter device, guest connection and kitchen printer before committing to a full rollout. GiveMyMenu currently needs a working network connection and does not provide offline order synchronization. KOT printing uses a browser print workflow rather than an unattended printer bridge. Agree on a manual service fallback for interruptions and show staff how to avoid entering an order twice afterward.
Check access at the end of a shift
Use individual staff accounts. Verify who can change a menu price, void an order, record a payment and close a drawer. For a cash drawer, compare counted cash with the opening amount, received cash payments and recorded cash movements. Test that a manager can review the close report without using a cashier’s personal login.
Try it with your restaurant menu
Set up a few dishes and follow an order through to the kitchen and bill.
